Greeters
“Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality.” – Romans 12:13
The Role and Importance of the Greeters Ministry
Goal: to provide a setting of care and hospitality to our parishioners and visitors.
Objective: to help prepare to encounter God during the Mass by personally welcoming and thanking each attendee with the same graciousness as if they were coming to your home.
Importance: A dedicated greeter can affect the first impressions of regular parishioners as well as visitors. It is an opportunity to express God’s love through Christ and set the tone of the upcoming liturgy. A friendly smile can brighten a day and may change a negative attitude. An expression of compassionate care can calm the nerves of a stressed soul. A gentle welcome and genuine concern may help people feel connected.
Please pray for the success of the Greeters Ministry and about your decision to join it. Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment. This may be an opportune way for you to reinvest the talents given to you by the Lord so that you can return them to Him with a profit.
