The Role and Importance of the Greeters Ministry
Our Pastoral Administrator, Fr. Alfonse, is recommending that we enhance our efforts to welcome with joy and appreciation all who come to share in the celebration of the Mass by forming a vibrant Greeters Ministry.
We are looking for volunteers who want to serve and represent every demographic of our parish. Please read through this information and complete the application. You’ll be contacted with more information and answers to your questions.
“Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality.”– Romans 12:13
Goal: to provide a setting of care and hospitality to our parishioners and visitors.
Objective: to help prepare to encounter God during the Mass by personally welcoming and thanking each attendee with the same graciousness as if they were coming to our home.
A dedicated greeter can affect the first impressions of regular parishioners as well as visitors. It is an opportunity to express God’s love through Christ and set the tone of the upcoming worship service.
A friendly smile can brighten a day and may change a negative attitude. An expression of compassionate care can calm the nerves of a stressed soul. A gentle welcome and genuine concern may help people feel connected.
There will be eight greeters assigned to each Mass from a pool of 20 greeters. Assignments will be made quarterly similar to the way it is done for Lectors and EMs.
