ASCS Names New Director of School

by All Saints on May 10, 2018

Dear Parents in Christ,

In order to ensure a smooth transition into the 2018-19 academic year, I have asked Shana Druffner to take on the role as Director of School.  Until such time as our new Principal is in place, Shana will be responsible for all academic issues related to 2018-19.  She will work closely with the current leadership team in this regard.

Shana has been a teacher at ASCS for twelve years and a parent at our school for nineteen years.  She and her husband David have four daughters, all of whom attended ASCS. Shana has worn many hats at ASCS.  In addition to being a veteran teacher, Director of Academic Competitions, and liturgist, she was previously our SAC President and School Finance Council Vice President.  She was instrumental in drafting our 2006 Blue Ribbon Application and our first TCCED Accreditation.  Under her leadership, our SAC was named the outstanding SAC in the nation by the NCEA.

Shana had a dual career as an attorney and musician for over twenty years.  She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, receiving her Juris Doctor in 1994.   Upon graduation from Ursuline Academy of Dallas in 1985, Shana received her Bachelor of Music Performance, summa cum laude from Rutgers University in 1990.  At the request of the church and school, Shana founded an Orchestral Program at All Saints Catholic Church and All Saints Catholic School in 2005 and 2006 respectively.  Shana was fortunate to receive the Work of the Heart Award in 2009 for her efforts.  She is well respected by her peers and was nominated as ASCS’ Distinguished Teacher of the Year in 2015-16.  In June, Shana will embark on yet another journey as she begins her Masters in Educational Leadership. It is Shana’s dream that all children should become the people that God created them to be and use their talents to glorify God.

I believe Shana’s experience, both in and out of the classroom, knowledge of ASCS, intellectual capabilities, and ability to implement our vision, will be most beneficial in guiding us at this time.  Please join me in welcoming her in this new role as we work to facilitate a smooth transition to a new Principal.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Alfonse Nazzaro
